We have put a significant change into the Türk SEM panel: only sites verified in Google Search Console can be added now. A site you have not verified cannot go into the system. This is not a gap, it is a deliberate security decision.
The short version: for every site it crawls, the panel produces a high value analysis, and only the owner of that site should see it. We take the proof of ownership from Google’s proven verification setup, so we never ask you for an extra code, file or DNS record. And Search Console data is not decoration on our system, it is the fuel the engine needs to run at full capacity.
The basic principle: a site’s data belongs to its owner
For every site added to the panel our system produces a comprehensive body of data: search performance series, keyword level ranking history, technical health findings, page speed and Core Web Vitals measurements, the backlink profile and the recommendations we derive from all of it. That is an x-ray of a website.
We think only the owner of a site should see an x-ray like that. In a system with no ownership check, anyone could add any domain and watch someone else’s data. We shut that door at the design stage: the analysis goes to the owner and nobody else.
Our rule fits in one sentence: real user, real site. An unverified domain does not get into the panel.
Why did we leave verification to Google?
We could have built our own verification setup for proof of ownership: making you add a DNS record, or upload a verification file to the site. But Google solved this problem years ago with Search Console. The known ways to verify a property are:
- Domain (DNS) verification: covers the whole domain, every subdomain and protocol with it.
- HTML file or meta tag: proves ownership with a small signature added at the site root.
- Existing Google tools: indirect verification through Google Analytics or Tag Manager.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, we leaned on that. When you add a site to the panel you connect your Google account with Search Console permission; the system then checks on the server side whether the domain you want to add is among the verified properties on your account. Whatever the interface shows, the server always has the last word, and that check never trusts data coming from the client.
What you get out of it: the moment the match is made, your record opens under the right property key and your search data is loaded 90 days back on first setup. You start with ninety days of history rather than none.
How does the system work behind the scenes?
A site you add to the panel falls under a three layer analysis pipeline. Each layer does its own job; the power comes from all three meeting in the same database.
1. The crawler: behaving like a search engine bot
The crawler we built behaves like a search engine bot: it discovers your pages, obeys your robots.txt rules and puts every page through a technical examination across dozens of headings. Indexing signals, on-page tags, structured data, security headers, speed and how modern the code is are only a few of them.
2. The intelligence engine: the layer that turns data into reading
A layer of interpretation runs on top of the crawl. Our intelligence engine looks for patterns in the data as it accumulates: it tries to work out whether a ranking movement lines up with a backlink gain, a content update or a known Google algorithm update. The aim is to give you not a raw number but a reading that can say “this movement most likely came from that”.
3. The monthly snapshot
Measurements are photographed month by month and each month’s results are kept in their own record. The comparison is always between the last two snapshots that exist, so which way your site is moving between two crawls comes out clearly. The “Now” page inside the panel turns that comparison into a reading you take in at a glance.
Why does Search Console data matter this much?
Our own crawl and Search Console answer two different halves of the same question. Put them side by side and the difference is plain:
| Our own crawler | Google Search Console | |
|---|---|---|
| The question it answers | “What should be true?” | “What is happening?” |
| Point of view | From inside the site: technical state, content, speed | Through Google’s eyes: queries, rankings, clicks |
| Example output | “These 12 pages have no title tag” | “You are 4th for this keyword and your click-through rate is below expectation” |
| Its limit on its own | Cannot see the result | Cannot see the cause |
The real strength of the system appears where those two sources cross. We compare your keyword level click-through rates against what the position should give, we catch a narrowing of visibility before the clicks drop, and we tie technical findings to actual search performance. That is why a Search Console connection is not an option in our system but a component the engine needs to run at full capacity.
How do you add a site to the panel?
- Connect your Google account. On the first step of the setup wizard you sign in with Search Console permission. We read ownership from that permission; no extra setup is needed.
- Pick your verified site. The properties on your account are listed and you pick the one you want with a single click. The live access test starts the moment you do.
- Watch the setup run. The SEO analysis, the speed and Core Web Vitals measurements, the site health crawl and the backlink profile are set up step by step; every result is saved and refreshed on a monthly cycle.
If your site is not in Search Console yet: verify your property in Search Console first, then come back to the panel and pick your site. Verification takes a few minutes on Google’s side and you only do it once.
Frequently asked questions
I have a Search Console account but my site is not in the list. Why?
The panel lists verified properties only. If your property is unverified, or it was verified under a different Google account, it will not appear. Make sure you connected with the right account; if you need to, finish the verification in Search Console and refresh the page.
Can anyone outside Türk SEM reach my data?
No. The analysis is shown only to the verified account that added the site. The ownership check runs again on the server every time a site is added, so nobody else can add your domain to their own panel.
What permissions does the Google connection use?
Only Search Console read access: your list of properties and your search performance data. We ask for nothing that could change anything on your site.
In short
Requiring Google Search Console is a principle that protects the value of what the platform gives you: real user, real site. By leaving the burden of verification to Google’s proven setup, we provide that without asking anything extra of you. And our analysis engine works at full capacity where it is strongest, on your verified data.
