This week we will go into pogo-sticking. It is a matter that affects the visibility of a website in the search engines deeply. For some people pogo-stick is a dark dream.
So what is pogo-sticking? It is the user going back after a search on the search engines and entering another site. In other words, it is the process of not getting any use out of the first site they landed on and carrying on with the search.
Hello to the Importance of UX
If you have met this problem, something must be happening on your site that does not fit the criteria we set out on our search engine optimization page. First read all the criteria we wrote and try to find which one you are at odds with. If you cannot find it, you are probably having trouble with the user experience.
Run a Browser Test
To be sure everything is in order, test how your site looks in every browser through BrowserLing. If your site has trouble with browsers, try to solve those problems quickly.

Page Load Speed
If your site does not open quickly, or opens very slowly, the user will not wait for it and will go back to get the information, service or product they were after from another site. So we recommend checking your load speed with our speed test tool, and consulting somebody who knows if you are not scoring above 90. We solved this pagespeed problem on WordPress sites.
Content That Fails
How successful and how accurate is your content? You agreed terms with a content writer and did not check the accuracy; the problem may start right there. Go over your content, know that what is true can change with time, and update it.
The Time Stamp
Every piece of content has a currency and a time. What was true in the content you wrote on your blog page may have changed, and over time that time stamped content can slip back in the search results. If you are giving information and people are reading it, be sure your time stamp is current.
Pages are building blocks and they carry no time stamp. So your content built on the “page” logic does not disappear because of time. If it has disappeared from the search results, something else may have gone wrong.
The AI Problem
Google says there is no problem on the matter of rewarding quality content, but in truth (this sentence of mine carries a 2023 stamp and may change with time) AI makes a good many mistakes. You should go over the content AI has written and correct the parts that are wrong. Saying that, at best, 80% of AI content is accurate would not be a wrong ratio.
The Web Design We Used to Call Relative
Years ago, around 2010, web design work was relative. But it is not relative any more. A well thought out, correctly built interface matters a great deal. A good SEO specialist now has to get involved in the design side we used to call relative. Because a complicated design language can make it harder for the visitor to reach the content they are looking for. And that can bring on pogo-sticking.
The Solution
I know you want to build the best site you can; hear it from other people as well. Run a survey among the users who use your site most and get their views. Get out of your office a little and find out what a user experiences when they land on the site imagining “the phrase you want to rank for”.
Developing it is up to you.
